New Delhi (SunstarTV Bureau): After facing repeated adjournments on Tuesday amid ruckus by Opposition MPs, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 9 am tomorrow.
The situation raised after the demand by the opposition parties for suspension of business of the day to take up a discussion on the ongoing farmers’ agitation against three farm laws was rejected by Chairman Venkaiah Naidu.
The Rajyasabha was first adjourned till 10.30 am. Then the second was commenced till 11.30 am and after it reassembled the third one was till 12.30 pm. Following three the house finally adjourned for the day amid the ruckus.
Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu rejected a suspension notice given by the opposition on the farm laws. However, he asked opposition parties to hold the discussion on Wednesday.
Manoj Jha of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Ghulam Nabi Azad of Congress, T. Shiva of DMK, Ashok Siddarth of Bahujan Samaj Party, and E. Kareem from CPI-M, the opposition gave notice under rule 267 of the Rajya Sabha to suspend.
