New Delhi (SunstarTV Bureau): For the first time ever in Indian budget session, the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has ditched the Swadeshi ‘bahi khata’ and switched to ‘Made in India’ tablet.
The Budget will be presented at 11 am in the Parliament on Monday. Meanwhile, this year Budget assumes to be a greater significance as it comes amid the Covid-19 global pandemic which apparently has caused economic disruption.
According to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahalad Joshi, the budget session which started on January 29 will take up 38 legislative items. The first part of the budget session will continue till February 15. Further the second part budget to commence from March 8 to April 8.
In 2019, Sitharaman had said that, “the Modi government is not a suitcase carrying government,” in an apparent jibe at the past dispensations.
According to Finance Minister, Budget 2021 will be like never before which sends a clear message that the India government may make some big announcement in this session.
An app had launched by Finance Minister ‘Union Budget Mobile App’ for hassle free access of Budget documents by Parliament members and the general public using the simplest form of digital convenience.
The app has the complete facilities to access 14 Union Budget documents, including the Annual Financial Statement. Demand for Grants, and Finance Bill as prescribed by the Constitution.
