SunstarTV Bureau: Entering to 35th day of farmers protesting against centers’ farm laws, have agreed to hold 6th round of meeting with the central meeting.

“ Five rounds of talks between farmers and government have taken place. We don’t think we will reach a solution even today. The three farm laws should be repealed,” Sukhwinder Singh Sabra, Joint Secretery, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Punjab ahead of the sixth round of talks with government.

“It’s essential to have strong opposition in the country whom the govt fears but here they don’t. This is why farmers had to come on roads. Opposition should sit in pitched tents & stage protest on roads against the farm laws,” Rakesh Tikait, Bharatiya Kisan Union at Ghazipur border.

Even, as the government invited 40 protesting farm unions for another rounfd of talks on December 30, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar seemed to draw a hard line on Monday. Stating that Prime Minister was dedicated to improving farmers’ condition no power could exert pressure and influence on him.

The Centre had issued a letter to them seeking a date for the sixth round of talks to end the ongoing strike against the farm laws and resolve all issues pertaining to the MSP.
