SunstarTV Bureau: Social media is buzzing with #boycottamazon-kindle. People all over the globe are boycotting amazon kindle to an extreme extent.

The reasons for which readers across the world are expressing their dishearten towards the online application as follows:

Books publishers, authors being paid less:

Cheap books mean publishers and authors receive less. This doesn’t support the future of book publishing and quality writing. Amazon can offer heavy ‘discounts’ because they are cutting other costs: taxes, publisher payments, author payments, and safe-labor practices.

Threatening publishers to reduce price:

The Amazon on many account, has threatened the publishers to reduce the book price and e-book price. If they deviate from the suggestion, the online portal seems to remove the ‘buy’ button from the pages of the book. This is pushing the publishers and writers to an edge.

Tax invasion by Amazon:

Amazon refuses to pay taxes in most states, even when they have a physical presence there, informed eminent economists.

By refusing to collect state sales taxes, Amazon gains an advantage in pricing perception over independent bookstores because their prices seem lower by 5 to 8% (the sales tax rate in most states).

Unfeasible working condition:

For instance, Amazon’s Pennsylvania warehouses get so hot in summer months that Amazon keeps ambulances outside of the buildings to rush employees to the hospital. Employees must keep a brutal production pace even during heat waves or they risk being termination from the company.
