SunstarTV Bureau:The Standing Committee on Defense has decided to visit the Galwan Valley and Pangong Lake in the eastern Ladakh region. The 10-month-long dispute between the Indian and Chinese troops in the Ladakh region of the Galwan Valley and Lake Pangong has come to an end, with discussions surrounding the decision of the permanent committee to visit.
The 30-member committee, headed by senior BJP leader and former Union minister Jual Oram , is expected to visit the eastern Ladakh region in the last week of May or June. Rahul Gandhi is also on the 30-member committee. However, sources said that Rahul Gandhi was not present at the last meeting of the panel that decided to visit the Ladakh region. The panel, on the other hand, wanted to visit the Line of Control (LoC), but only after the central government approved it.
Notably, clashes between the Indo-China border in the Galvan Valley last June ended relations between the two countries. The Indo-Chinese LAC began deploying troops and preparing for war. However, relations between the two countries are improving today after a command-level meeting to resolve the issue. India and China have withdrawn their troops from Lake Pangong and removed their weapons.
