New Delhi (SunstarTV Bureau): Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, a three days event the world’s first ‘hybrid’ air show Aero India has organized in Bangaluru on Wednesday will conclude on Friday this week.
According to sources, with strict Covid-19 protocols the event to be held and those entering the exhibition will have to show a negative RT-PCR test taken on or after 31 January. However, each day only 3,000 visitors are allowed at the flight display venue.
For the first time, the 13th edition will see an Indian Ocean Region (IOR) defence minister’s conclave as India seeks a bigger role in this volatile hub of global geopolitical rivalry. The conclave is an initiative to promote dialogue in an institutional, economic and cooperative environment that can foster development of peace and stability.
The three-day show will be India hosting the defence ministers of about 28 IOR countries, including Iran. India sees the IOR as a natural extension of its sphere of influence, and has gone from calling itself the next ‘Security Provider’ in the region to the preferred security partner.
As many as 601 exhibitors where 523 Indian and 78 foreign and 14 countries have confirmed participation, report say.
The major highlighting part is Bengaluru-headquartered Hindustan Aeronautics Limited would showcase ‘Aatmanirbhar Formation Flight’. The ‘Aatmanirbhar Formation Flight’ consisting HAL products such as LAC trainer, HTT-40, IJT, Advance Hawk Mk 132 and Civil Do-228 will fly in a special formation showcasing the spectrum of trainers and signifying self-sufficiency in the trainer segment.
