SunstarTV Bureau: Actor turned politician Urmila Matondkar joins Shiv Sena, in the presence of party president Uddhav Thackeray, at Matoshree today.
Thackeray’s wife Rashmi Thackeray and other Sena leaders were in the meeting.
Rashmi Thackeray tied a saffron thread (‘Shiv Bandhan’) on Urmila’s wrist and inducted her in the party.

Urmila had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha polls as a Congress candidate, was defeated by BJP’s Gopal Shetty from North Mumbai constituency. However, she had quit the party in September alleging in-house politics and said that she did not find support from its leaders.

Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government recently, recommended Urmila’s name for nomination to the state legislative council from governor’s quota, along with 11 others.
