Mumbai (SunstarTV Bureau): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend and flatmate Sidharth Pithani on Friday in connection with a drugs case linked to the actor’s death.
According to sources, Pithani got arrested from Hyderabad by a special NCB team.
Worth mentioning here, Pithani was one of the four flatmates of Sushant in the Mumbai apartment, where the late actor was found dead on June 14, 2020. He was among the first few people to come out and give statements to media about Sushant’s alleged death by hanging. Last year, Pithani was called in several times by both Mumbai police and CBI for interrogation . Since then, he had been away from media glare .
The arrest comes almost two and half months after it filed a 12,000-page charge sheet against 33 people, including actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and others in the Bollywood-drugs mafia probe case linked to Sushant’s death on June 14, 2020, when he was found hanging in his flat.
On March 5, the NCB charge sheet was filed before a Mumbai Special NDPS Court, following two cases registered by the drug law enforcement agency after an intimation from the Enforcement Directorate which was probing the financial angles in Sushant’s death.
