Lakhimpur Kheri: Autopsy report reveals cause of death of farmers

SunstarTV Bureau: The autopsy report revealed the cause behind the death of farmer, amidst tension in Lakhimpur Kheri following eight deaths during farmer’s protest. Meanwhile, the post-mortem report confirmed that the farmers died due to shock, excessive bleeding and hemorrhage. But no bullet injury was found on the bodies.

Eight persons including four farmers died in a violence that erupted during the farmers’ protest in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The demonstration was being staged opposing Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit to Banbirpur.

The farmers’ body claimed that four farmers identified as Nakshatra Singh, Daljeet Singh, Lavepreet Singh and Gurvinder Singh died after being mowed down by vehicles on the Tikunia-Banbirpur road.

The autopsy report revealed that Lovepreet Sigh, an 18-year-old farmer, died due to shock and hemorrhage. The injury marks from sharp objects were found on Gurvinder Singh’s body and his death was also caused due to shock and hemorrhage. Another farmer Daljeet Singh was dragged and injury marks were found on his body.

Four others, who died in the incident, were said to be the supporters of the BJP. They were allegedly dragged out of a car in which they were travelling and lynched by the protesters.

The local administration, the farmers’ body and the BJP leaders confirmed eight deaths in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. But, Media reports said that a journalist identified as Ratan Kashyap also died in the violence. He was working with a TV channel and covering the incident. Reportedly, he was hit by a speeding vehicle following which he died.
