Shimla (SunstarTV Bureau): A senior Congress leader and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh breathed his last at 3.40 AM in Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital here today. He was 87.
Notably, since April 23, Singh was being treated in IGMC hospital.
Reportedly, the former CM’s health condition was began to deteriorate on Monday after heart attack. Soon after, he was shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital.
Pertaining to mention here that, Singh was tested twice positive for Coronavirus infection in two consecutive months – April 12 and June 11.
In April, after health ailments, he was admitted to Max hospital in Mohali and soon after on April 23, discharged. Thereafter, in Shimla he developed breathing issues and was admitted to IGMC hospital.
Virbhadra Singh during his political career also remained the leader of opposition from March 1998-2003. He was known an elected member as MLA for nine times and five times MP.
Moreover, Singh served as Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister for six terms.
From many sides of the state and outside are pouring condolences of the noted person’s sad demise.
