Puri (SunstarTV Bureau): The Puri police on Tuesday imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 to an on-duty traffic constable for violating COVID-19 guidelines by not wearing face mask.
The information has given by Puri SP Samarth Verma on his official Twitter handle today.
“We have fined our own Traffic constable of Rs 2000 for not wearing mask. And he, as a responsible citizen has paid,” the SP tweeted.
On April 9, the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik addressed the state to observe the initiated 14 days ‘Mask Abhiyaan’ and urged them to wear mask properly during these days.
However, the violators will have to pay Rs 2,000 for first two violations and Rs 5,000 for subsequent offences, the state government clarified. Earlier, the fine amount was Rs 1,000 for first two violations and Rs 5,000 for subsequent offences.
