Jharkhand (SunstarTV Bureau): One unusual incident happened in Jharkhand’s Chatra district where a woman’s decision to marry her cousin brother left everyone in shocked. Moreover her family members’ reaction too had turned the locals as mute spectators.
According to sources, four months ago, a 25-year-old girl named Sabita alias Kiran Kumari, the daughter of Sukhdeo Ram, married her cousin brother Rajdeep Kumar, the son of Lakhan Ram.
Meanwhile, her family members had vehemently opposed the marriage and made all effort to convince her, but in vain. Furthermore, the matter was reported to the police but the girl was adamant and stuck to her decision, saying she wants to spend rest of her life with Rajdeep.
Even after lots of effort, the family members decided to punish her by performing her last rites.
On Monday, the family members took a funeral with a dummy of the girl, and cremated it after performing rituals in Kharika village under the Tandawa police station in Chatra district. Even her father and mother had shouldered the brier.
Some locals said, the girl had an affair with her cousin Rajdeep for several years. Both lived and studied in Ranchi and got married a few months ago.
