SunstarTV Bureau:The ruling BJP has had remarkable success in the Gujarat municipal elections. The BJP has won five of the four municipalities elected. The five municipal corporations the BJP has won are Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Rajkot.
The BJP is also leading in Surat. In the Surat Nagar Nigam, the BJP won 93 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 28 seats and the Congress could not open an account. As a result, the BJP is certain to win in Surat.Elections for the four municipal corporations were held in Gujurat on the 21st. Voting was held for a total of 576 seats in 144 wards of the six municipalities. According to the latest reports, the BJP has won 331 of the 576 seats and is leading in some of the others.
Rejoicing in the victory, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said the election results prove that Gujarat is the stronghold of the BJP.
Elections will be held for other municipalities and panchayats in the state after the corporation elections.
