SunstarTV Bureau: “India needs to focus on the production of its defense equipment to meet the defense needs of third world countries with relatively small financial standing,” the Prime Minister said in a webinar today.
Commenting on the effective use of the budgetary system in the field of defense, the Prime Minister said that the changes in the global system indicate that all the smaller nations want to strengthen their defense status. Defense is one of the main concerns of the countries concerned. It is only natural that the country should seek the help of all Indians to strengthen its defense capabilities.
“We have the ability to produce goods at low prices,” he said. We are also able to provide high quality materials. We are playing an important role through our growing defense sector. We have the opportunity to help those countries in the production of defense equipment.
“India currently produces defense equipment for more than 40 countries,” he said. Therefore, he opined that India should focus on being the largest defense exporter.
He said the company and the “MSME” were working hard to provide the necessary equipment to achieve this goal.
