Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau):Odisha Vigilance sleuths arrested Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Abhay Kant Pathak and his son Akash Kumar Pathak, allegedly for disproportionate crores worth assets to their known source of income.
The father-son Pathak duo was produced before the Vigilance’s special court, for hearing of the case.
The Vigilance officials have recovered cash of Rs 60 lakh, gold ornaments weighing 800 grams, documents relating to purchase of gold worth Rs 23 lakh, costly vehicles and huge money deposits following searches at different places in Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, and Pune, in claim of Abhay.
The officials have recovered cash deposits of about Rs 9.4 crore made in the bank accounts of Akash. Costly vehicles like Mercedes, BMW and Tata Harrier and three pricy Yamaha FZS motorcycles have been found registered in his name, who also happens to hire costly vehicles on rent.
The Tata Motors Limited (TML) has also lodged a complaint with the Crime Branch of Odisha Police against Akash Kumar Pathak accusing him of committing cheating, forgery and impersonating as the Managing Director of the company.
The company in its FIR mentioned that Akash Kumar has taken huge amount of money fraudulently from unemployed youths to secure them a job in Tata Motors Limited. Akash Kumar illegally impersonated and projected himself as MD Tata Motor Pune Passenger Division and CEO designate, it said.
