SunstarTV Bureau: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the youth that the aim of the New Education Policy(NEP) is to develop the qualities of self-confidence and introspection. At the centennial celebrations of University of Lucknow, he said,”The aim of the new National Education Policy is that the youth of the country gets to know itself”, yesterday.
In his address through video conference, the Prime Minister also pointed out the faults of the previous governments, without directly mentioning the name Congress or its President, Sonia Gandhi, regarding the functioning of the rail coach factory in Rae Bareli for years.
“Self-confidence can only be attained when there is the freedom to take one’s own decision, and when there is flexibility. A mind and body which are in chains can never be productive. The Prime Minister pleaded the teachers and the students at the University and thoroughly discussed and argued over the NEP and also urged to work on its speedy implementation.
“By the time the country completes 75 years of Independence, the NEP will become a part of our education policy in letter and spirit” the PM said. According to him the people have not utilized their potential (saamarth) for a long time to the fullest.
Modi said, positivity in thought and possibility in approach must be kept alive. The prime minister released a commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the university’s centennial foundation day.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also attended the event.
