SunstarTV Bureau: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has partially cancelled and rescheduled certain trains running thorough the cyclone Nivar affected states.
As the depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has taken the shape of cyclonic storm Nivar, a few trains under the jurisdiction of East Coast Railway (ECoR) have been short terminated.
According to ECoR issued official release, the Bhubaneswar-Pondicherry Special train from Bhubaneswar scheduled on November 24 will run up to Chennai Egmore and remain cancelled from Chennai Egmore to Pondicherry.
Besides, the Pondicherry-Bhubaneswar Special from Pondicherry scheduled on November 25 will begin from Chennai Egmore instead of Pondicherry to Bhubaneswar and remain cancelled between Pondicherry and Chennai Egmore.
Accordingly, the Pondicherry-Howrah Special from Pondicherry on November 25 will originate from Villupuram instead of Pondicherry to Howrah and remain cancelled from Pondicherry to Villupuram.
Notably, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given early prediction that the cyclonic storm Nivar will intensify further into severe cyclonic storm over the next 24 hours and cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram around 8 PM on Wednesday.
