SunstarTV Bureau: The Bombay High Court will deliver the verdict on Monday in the case registered against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters Shweta Singh and Mita Singh, for allegedly putting him on medication without consultation.
Besides, a Delhi-based doctor has also been named in the case for allegedly colluding with deceased actor’s sisters.
The plea was moved by Rajput’s girlfriend and Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty in September 2020, who had lodged complaint in Bandra Police Station regarding the same case.
In her complaint, Chakraborty accused Shweta Singh, Mita Singh, and Dr Tarun Kumar of the Delhi-based Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital of forging a prescription of medicines that were prohibited under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and prescribing them to Sushant Singh Rajput.
Meanwhile, Rajput’s sisters had moved the High Court requesting for the FIR to be quashed. Rajput’s lawyer Vikas Singh had said that the complaint against the sisters and others was illegal and they will take serious action in the matter.
In their petition to the court, Shweta and Mita Singh claimed that the FIR was filed based on the media reports and that the complaint was full of material irregularities and discrepancies.
They also claimed that there was an inordinate delay of 90 days in lodging the complaint as the medicines were prescribed on June 8 and the complaint was lodged on September 7. The late Bollywood actor was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14 last year. His death was initially treated as suicide by the Mumbai Police but a long saga ensued after Rajput’s family members alleged murder and involvement of his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.
