Beijing (SunstarTV Bureau): A ten member expert team of World Health Organisation (WHO), arrived in Wuhan city to investigate the origins of the deadly coronavirus pandemic, on Thursday.
According to China’s National Health Commission (NHC), “the WHO teams will need to go through relevant quarantine procedures under the country’s epidemic control. They were also expected to go through a 14- day quarantine period and necessary Covid-19 tests.”
About the deadly virus outbreak, China has been proactively questioning where Chinese CDC Deputy Director Feng Zijian said that he has no answers as to what the intermediate host of the novel coronavirus was, or how the virus jumped from animals to humans, and China’s medical experts will work closely with the WHO experts’ team to try to probe its sources.
Notably, in May last year, the World Health Assembly (WHA) approved to set up an independent and comprehensive evaluation of the international response. Similarly, asked the WHO to investigate the root cause of the outbreak virus.
However, the NHC on Thursday reported 138 newly confirmed Covid-19 cases, of which 124 were locally transmitted and the rest arrived from outside the mainland.
