SunstarTV Bureau: After a hibernation, the academic huts stir to resume over an infamous pause. Local administration is making it liable for every individual’s safety by preventing the spreading of the life threatening virus.

When the educational institutes reopen, students from far flung areas are intended to use public transport system to attend classes. While majority bus passengers don’t wear masks and sanitization of the vehicles is barely done, there is a fair bit of agonizing situations among teachers and guardian over the pandemic.

According to a high school headmaster, they have received instruction to resume classes of class 10 from January 8. Each class will be run for one hour duration with 20 students. However, only six teachers will be available where his school has around 150 students in class 10.

He further informed that Plus II and Plus III final year classes will be resumed from January 11.

On the other side, even after regular sanitisation of the school premises, panic grooves over safety of school students those who use public transport, stated the authorities.

According to sources, Rourkela College, a composite government college has decided to hold classes for two sections on alternate days amid of Covid-19 norms. The college also requested to the Rourkela Municipal Corporation to sanitise class rooms at least once a week.

In-Charge principal of the college Sujata Pradhan confessed that the management is ready to resume the classes. However, the infection risk is high for Government (Autonomous) college, Rourkela which has Plus II, Plus III and multiple PG courses along with the IGNOU centre.

As per some parents, “The life is now limping back to normalcy, but the risk of Covid infection to students is both from within the campus and outside. The district administrations should strictly impose Covid norms in public transport system and campuses.”

So far, the good news comes with the reported Covid 19 cases are decreasing gradually for past couple of weeks. However, in the last 24 hours 231 more Covid-19 positive cases were filed thereby taking the total number of cases to 3,30,921 in Odisha today.
