West Bengal (SunstarTV Bureau): Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury writes to Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani to reopen Arati jute mill in Howrah, today.
In the letter he expressed great urgency for reopening of Arati jute mil in West Bengal as immediately as possible. He says, “Workers of the mill are undergoing poverty and penury due to the lockdown.”
“May I dare to draw your attention to the poor plight of happiness workers of ARTI JUTE MILL who are undertaking poverty and penury due to the luck down for months together, I came to learn that NTC under the aegis of your ministry has taken new initiative to open a few mills belonging to TAMIL NADU, KERALA AND MAHARASTRA,” he wrote in the letter.
He further added, “Without any reservation I must appreciate your endeavour and suggest you to stretch out the string of your purse a little more to accommodate ARATI MILL in West Bendal which is recognized as NTC mill, you are certainly to be aware of the huge potentialities of jute sector in West Bengal.”
