SunstarTV Bureau: The driving licence (DL) of a rider will be suspended if either of the driver and the pillion rider will be found without helmet in Odisha, informed the State Transport Authority (STA).

Strictly enforcing the new MV Act in Odisha, the State Transport Authority (STA) informed it in a tweet today.

Recently, the RTO, Bhubaneswar has suspended 97 DLs of riders for not wearing helmets in the period of 10 days in the city.

Earlier, Odisha Government had instructed the State Police and Transport Commissioner to regulate the rule of suspension of DL for driving two-wheeler without wearing helmet, positively.

Transport Department Secretary, Madhusudan Padhi in a letter to the DGP and Transport Commissioner directed to implement rules for suspension of DL of the offenders in case of violation of Helmet Law.
