Balangir (SunstarTV Bureau): A total of 48 bonded labourers, including 23 women and 25 men, are rescued by Kantabanjhi police here on Saturday. Police also intercepted touting of eight children.
Police extricated them when the middleman was taking them to railway station to engage at a brick factory in Hyderabad.
However, the middleman slipped away from police’s grip.
The workers belong to Barpali area in Bargarh district, Buden and Sinapali area in Nuapada district and Muribahal in Balangir district.
