SunstarTV Bureau: India registered a lead of 89 runs against England, on Day 2 of the fourth Test match, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The hosts ended Day 2 after scoring 294 for seven, at Stumps. Washington Sundar and Axar Patel are currently unbeaten for India, and will be hoping to build a partnership on Day 3. Sundar has also bagged a half-century. India started off Day 2 on an erratic note, but a century from Rishabh Pant turned the tide towards their side. Pant slammed 101 runs off 118 balls, before losing his wicket to James Anderson after the Tea break. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin and Rohit Sharma lost their wickets before Tea to Jack Leach and Ben Stokes respectively. Also, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were dismissed before Lunch, by Leach and Anderson respectively. Stokes also took the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli before Lunch. The visitors will be aiming to take quick wickets and put in a good display against India’s tailenders on Day 3. Meanwhile, India will be aiming to increase their lead.
