Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): An yet another medal-winning performance performed by India on Sunday. The para-shuttler Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj handed India another silver medal in the SL4 badminton event on Sunday.
It was India’s eighth silver in the competition, while India has now 19 medals in total, thus being placed at the 24th spot in the medal table.
He went down to France’s Lucas Mazur 21-15, 17-21, 15-21 in a 62-minute showdown. Although the Indian had also lost to the Frenchman in the qualifiers, he produced a stunning performance thereon.
Consequently, he has become the first IAS officer to win a Paralympic medal. He happens to be Noida’s Gautam Buddh Nagar’s district magistrate.
