Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Regional Meteorological Centre a low pressure formed today over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha and West Bengal coasts that may bring heavy rainfall causing flash flood in some places in the State.

With onset of southwest monsoon in Odisha and under influence of low pressure, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in all parts of the State starting from today till June 15 morning.

Day 1: Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurdha, Ganjam, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Angul.

Impact: The heavy rain is expected to cause water logging in low lying areas, traffic congestion and disruption of municipal services, damage of horticultural crops/vegetables in some areas due to inundation.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara Jajpur, Cuttack, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Day 2: Red warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls at one or two places very likely to occur over the districts of Kandhamal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Khurdha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur.

Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kendrapara.

Impact: The heavy to very heavy rains may cause flash floods in some places, damage to informal/kutcha road and vulnerable structure and landslides in hilly areas.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 3: Red warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls at one or two places very likely to occur over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sambalpur, Angul, Nawarangpur.

Impact: Water logging and localized/Flash flood in some places.

Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara Jagatsinghpur, Deogarh.

Day 4: Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda & Sundargarh.

Impact: Water logging and localized/Flash flood in some places and possibility of landslides in hilly areas.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Boudh, Angul, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Day 5: Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.
