Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The highest surge of COVID-19 cases have been detected so far in Odisha where 10,521 fresh cases reported by I&PR department in, the last 24 hours.
Among all those reported cases, Khurda registered highest number of cases which as 1,477 more persons in the district contracted with the deadly virus.
Followed by Sundargarh with 1,186 Covid cases and Cuttack reported total 963 covid positives in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday a total of 48,314 samples were tested in the state.
With this, the COVID-19 tally in Odisha mounted to 500162 with 81585 active cases.
This apart, as many as 17 COVID-related deaths were reported in the state in the last 24 hours as the toll rose to 2121.
