Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): A day after the suicide attempted by BJP MLA Subash Panigrahi by consuming hand sanitizer inside Odisha Assembly on Friday, the legislator of ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has demanded an unconditional apology from BJP MLA.

According to sources, the BJD MLAs and Minister trooped and raised slogan inside House by stating that they will not let the House run till the BJP MLA apologizes for his act in the assembly.

Besides, Congress MLAs also raised the mandi issue in the Legislative Assembly, especially in western Odisha.

Amid the pandemonium raised by MLAs, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the proceedings of the second phase of the Budget session of Odisha Assembly till 11:30 AM.

Notably, on Friday, BJP MLA from Deogarh, Subash Chandra Panigrahi attempted to end his life by drinking the hand sanitizer as a mark of protest against the state government in resolving various issues related to the agrarian distress in the State like mismanagement at mandis, irregularities in paddy procurement, including the token system.
