Cuttack (SunstarTV Bureau): After being failed to advance satisfactory explanation on the mishap of Cuttack Sun Hospital, the district collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani directed to shut the hospital temporarily, on Wednesday.
However, the hospital was allegedly operating without fire safety license, informed sources.
After a major fire breaks out in Sun Hospital, the authority has been asked to provide explanation about the functioning of private health centre without fire license or fire safety certificate. However, they failed to provide any satisfactory reply above the matter.
Meanwhile, a probe has been ordered into the mishap to find out whether fire safety measures were in place at the hospital. After this the major step has been taken by the Cuttack collector to shut the hospital on a temporary basis.
Notably, a massive fire broke out at the hospital at around 1 pm on February 1, triggering panic among the patients, attendants and medical staff. Where at least seven fire officials unit including 50-60 personnel were pressed into service.
