Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Regional Meteorological Department has recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius in eight districts on Wednesday while G Udaygiri recorded the lowest among as 3.5 degree Celsius.
Followed by Phulbani in Kandhamal district recorded 5 degree, Keonjhar, Koraput and Boudh went down to 9 degree Celsius each, Jharsuguda and Bhawanipatna recorded 9.2 degree Celsius each and Bolangir 9.4 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s Capital city and Cuttack both have recorded minimum temperature at 12 and 13.3 degree Celsius respectively.
However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday has issued of severe cold wave alert in as many as 16 districts of the State for next 24 hours. Besides, Kandhamal, Phulbani and Keonjhar experienced severe cold wave conditions while Malkangiri witnessed heavy fog.
The minimum temperature will, however, again fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius from February 8 over the districts of Odisha.
According to the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) P K Jena in a letter to all district Collectors and the commissioners of different municipal corporations suggested taking measures to save people from the cold wave conditions.
