Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): The Second spell of Covid-19 vaccination drive in the first spell will resume on Wednesday while the health workers to be administered only in Capital city, informed the Health department.

“The vaccination drive to resume in other parts of the state from tomorrow,” said Health department.

According to reports, government has aimed to vaccinate over 3.50 lakh health workers during the second phase of the drive which will continue till February 10.

In the first spell the immunization drive fetched a success level at 92 percent with 1,77,090 being vaccinated against a target of 1,92,555 healthcare workers. In Bhubaneswar, total 9,468 beneficiaries of the targeted 9000 receiving jab in the first phase of the drive.

According to Health Director Bijay Panigrahi, “the health workers who failed to receive the vaccination will be called again to avail the shot in a phase manner.”

Meanwhile, the Health Director further added about the registration for the frontline workers under Revenue and Housing & Urban Development Department has been extended till January 31.

Reportedly, 14 districts registered above 100 percent success result while four districts witnessed less than 60 percent achievement in vaccination drive.

As per Adverse event following immunization (AEFI) statement, there are no serious side effects have been reported yet from anywhere in the state.
