Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik has sanctioned total 62 posts for Odisha’s Special Wing to probe crimes against woman and children, on Monday.
According to officials report, the special wing will consist of 62 posts where 60 posts for police personnel and two for cyber forensic and Information Technology (IT) personnel.
Similarly, The 60 police personnel include an IG-rank officer, who will head the special wing, two of as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASPs), 10 as DCP-rank officers, nine as Inspectors, 10 as Sub-Inspectors, 8 ASIs and 14 constables. Besides, five ministerial staff posts have been sanctioned by State government.
Notably, on December 2020, Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik had announced to set up a special wing in Odisha police to probe various crimes against women and children with an aim to provide quality services to them.
