New Delhi (SunstarTV Bureau): End of the speculation as the Union Health Ministry announced at a press conference on Tuesday that India will begin administering Covid vaccine by January 13.
During the press meeting, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan stated, “Covid 19 vaccine to be rolled out within 10 days from the date of approval.”
Notably, On Sunday, the Drug Controller General of India had announced approvals to Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield manufactured by Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin against coronavirus infection for restricted emergency use.
As India stands the second-highest number of Covid infections after US in the world, the announcement comes as a major relief for India.
