Boudh (SunstarTV Bureau): Odisha’s young biochemist Jayram Rana, has made it to the Guinness Book of World Records by producing the largest Arum leaf.
The 30-year-old youth of Ambagaon village under Kantamala block, Boudh district, has produced the leaf by the implementation of new farming technique.
Reportedly, Rana was striding inside forests and found the Arum grown there. He then planted it near the well of his house through unique farming and applying bio-chemical fertilizer. His efforts catered him positive result after successfully growing a giant Arum leaf with 25 inch length and 29 inch width.
On January 7, Rana had applied for the Guinness Book of World Records for the leaf. After three months, officials concerned began verification of his claim and later got him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Recently, he has received the certificate with wishes pouring in for him from different quarters.
According to sources, Rana is the Managing Director of a lab named Health Science Research Foundation and has received the state Government’s nod for collaboration. He is also researching on various formulas and once he receives clearance from the Government, he will register his own patents.
