SunstarTV Bureau: After witnessing tremendous success of last year’s Odisha Tourism’s flagship Eco Retreat, 2nd edition gala festival has commenced at five locations from today.
The five places hosting this year’s Eco Retreat are– Ramchandi beach in Konark, Satkosia, Bhitarkanika, Daringibadi and Hirakud. The event will continue from today and will continue till February 28.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the event through video conferencing. Video messages of the CM, Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and Union PNG and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were displayed at the five locations during the inaugural ceremony.

The event is looking forward to kick-start the tourism sector in Odisha, which was hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. The first edition of Eco Retreat was held only at the Ramchandi beach, last year.
Accommodation facilities and services will be provided to the tourists in luxury tented cottages during the event. It was earlier scheduled to be inaugurated on December 8, but got deferred by a day on account of ‘Bharat Bandh’.
