SunstarTV Bureau: One of the most celebrated Sikh gurus and founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev is massively revered by the Sikh community.
His birth anniversary is commemorated as Guru Nanak Jayanti every year. Sikhs start this auspicious day with ‘Akhand Path’- a 48 hour long verse from the holy Guru Granth Sahib is recited across various Gurudwaras.
According to folks of legend, Nanak was born at around 1.20 am. Therefore, the evening prayers continue till then, with devotees Gurubani sung till 2 am, the day comes to an end.
