SunstarTV Bureau: The current lockdown has brought down the travel and tourism industry  and hence their entire operation stands still.Due to the suspension of overseas and domestic flight services as well as cancellation of all passenger train services,  the travel sector suffers a huge loss. Since the lockdown was announced in the wake of rapid spread of the pandemic across the globe and in the country, the travel agencies have remained shut for nearly a year.

Once there was a situation  when package tours both domestic and international were at peak during summer as the holiday season begins. But, this time the COVID-19  pandemic has completely washed out the business of travel agencies.

With international borders still being shut, and domestic travel often in a swinging condition , passenger volumes continue to be extremely low, and companies are drastically degrading .Working in the travel sector in the times of Covid-19 calls for a lot of trouble. One cannot pick up a newspaper or listen to a news byte without coming across, yet another headline indicating  a doomsday scenario for the industry.

The global reach of the pandemic and the application of the disease controls classic methods in the form of quarantine, reduced mobility and isolation  had a dramatic effect on international travel sector.

With the whole world coming out of the great despair, it can only be hoped that travel sector will kick start soon.
