Odisha’s celebrated sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has modeled a 25-feet sand sculpture to commemorate the victory of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris at the Puri beach in Odisha.
It took him around 6 hours and 10 tonnes of sand to complete the sculpture.
“We are very happy that the first time a woman of Indian origin was elected as Vice President. I would like to congratulate Kamala Harris,” said the sculpture artist.
Sudarsan has inscribed his name in the pages of global artists holding a chisel. He has built many sand sculptures indicating US election.

Padma awardee Pattnaik has bought glory for India on many occasions by participating in more than 60 international sand art competitions and festivals around the globe and claiming the trophy.
His objective has always been to create awareness and enthusiasm among the people and make sand art a popular professional art form among the people. For which he has been traveling various places in the country and demonstrating this art form by holding workshops and training.
Sudarsan said in an occasion, “I have established ‘The Golden Sand Art Institute’ which is first of its nature in India. My sculptures include environmental crisis, famous festivals, national integrity and religious tolerance.”
His sand sculptures always revolve around social messaging.
