Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): A unique protest staged by the students of Odisha Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) by polishing shoes on the road in Bhubaneswar city to express their resentment over the educational qualification criteria for selection into different posts under the Odisha Forest Service (OFS).
According to sources, the students were continuing their protest for last three days urging State government to allow candidates with Bachelor of Science in Forestry qualification to appear for different OFS examinations.
Notably, on February 20 a group of engineers who were laid-off from their jobs had staged a similar protest by polishing shoes at the Lower PMG Square.
The engineers who were engaged in different franchises of the Central Electricity Supply Utility of Odisha (CESU) for the last 10 years were laid-off from their jobs after Tata Power took over the management of CESU for the distribution and supply of power in Odisha’s five circles-Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Puri, Paradeep and Dhenekal.
