Washington (SunstarTV Bureau): The Johns Hopkins University has examined the number of global Covid-19 cases which has surpassed the 105.3 million mark, while the death cases surged above 2.29 million marks.
As per the latest given statement of the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE), till Saturday morning the current global caseload stood at 1,05,346,199 while the death toll counted to 2,296,700.
The US country recorded the world’s highest Covid-19 cases and death rates at 26,804,927 and 4,59,278 respectively. Following US, India stands in second place with 10,802,591 cases and fatalities rate of 1,54,823 recorded.
According to CSSE reports, other countries with more than a million confirmed cases are Brazil with 9,447,165, Russia with 3,891,274, the UK with 3,922,910, France with 3,355,678, Spain with 2,941,990, Italy with 2,611,659, Turkey with 2,516,889, Germany with 2,276,371, Colombia with 2,142,660, Argentina with 1,970,009, Mexico with 1,899,820, Poland with 1,539,564, South Africa with 1,470,516, Iran with 1,452,380, Ukraine with 1,280,501 and Peru with 1,158,337.
The second-highest number death toll recorded in Brazil at 2,30,034. Following Brazil, Mexico with 1,62,922, the UK with 1,11,477, Italy with 90,618, France with 78,749, Russia with 74,520, Iran with 58,336, Spain with 61,386, Germany with 60,843, Colombia with 55,403, Argentina with 48,985, South Africa with 45,902, Peru with 41,538, Poland with 38,712, Indonesia with 31,202, Turkey with 26,577, Ukraine with 24,599 and Belgium with 21,260 cases recorded.
