Washington (SunstarTV Bureau): The Johns Hopkins University has examined the number of global Covid-19 cases which has surpassed the 104.8 million mark, while the death cases surged above 2.28 million marks.
As per the latest given statement of the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE), till Friday morning the current global caseload stood at 104,832,983 while the death toll counted to 2,281,608.
The US country recorded the world’s highest Covid-19 cases and death rates at 26,673,780 and 4,55,657 respectively. Following US, India stands in second place with 10,790,183 cases and fatalities rate of 1,54,703 recorded.
According to CSSE reports, other countries with more than a million confirmed cases are Brazil with 9,396,293, Russia with 3,874,830, the UK with 3,903,706, France with 3,310,496, Spain with 2,913,425, Italy with 2,597,446, Turkey with 2,508,988, Germany with 2,265,536, Colombia with 2,135,412, Argentina with 1,961,635, Mexico with 1,886,245, Poland with 1,533,511, South Africa with 1,466,767, Iran with 1,445,326, Ukraine with 1,275,334 and Peru with 1,158,337.
The second-highest number death toll recorded in Brazil at 2,28,795. Following Brazil, Mexico with 161,240, the UK with 110,462, Italy with 90,241, France with 77,743, Russia with 74,005, Iran with 58,256, Spain with 60,802, Germany with 60,067, Colombia with 55,131, Argentina with 48,700, South Africa with 45,605, Peru with 41,538, Poland with 38,344, Indonesia with 31,001, Turkey with 26,467, Ukraine with 24,429 and Belgium with 21,216 cases recorded.
