Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Amid Covid-19 pandemic the recovery rates in Odisha reached to 99.17 percent on Thursday. However, only one death case has been reported in past 24 hours.
According to health officials report, the state Covid-19 case mounted to 3,35,369 after more 87 have tested positive. Similarly, death toll mounts to 1,907 in the last 24 hours. With this the fatality rates stands at 0.56 percent.
The fatality cases reported so far, Khurda district counted at 335, followed by Ganjam 248, Sundergarh 173, Cuttack 141 and Puri 117.
“Regret to inform the demise of 68-year-old COVID positive patient of Kalahandi district who was also suffering from hypertension,” the health department said on Twitter.
Meanwhile, the recovery rates also recorded at 3,32,611 with 112 patients in the last 24 hours which mounts the recovery rates at 99.17 percent.
Reportedly, new positive cases were reported where 51 were from quarantine centers and 36 detected from contact tracing. Sundargarh district recorded the highest number of new cases at 26, followed by Mayurbhanj at nine and Khurda at seven, the official said.
The state has conducted over 77.96 lakh sample tests, including 21,742 on Wednesday, and the positivity rate now stands at 4.3 per cent.
The health department said that 1,92,437 frontline workers have been registered for receiving COVID vaccines in the second phase of the inoculation drive scheduled to begin on February 6.
