Washington (SunstarTV Bureau): The Johns Hopkins University has examined the number of global Covid-19 cases which has surpassed the 102.5 million mark, while the death cases surged above 2.21 million marks.
As per the latest given statement of the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE), till Sunday morning the current global caseload stood at 102,525,801 while the death toll counted to 2,217,668.
The US country recorded the world’s highest Covid cases and death rates at 26,067,807 and 4,39,420 respectively. Following US, India stands in second place with 10,733,131 cases and fatalities rate of 1,54,147 recorded.
According to CSSE reports, other countries with more than a million confirmed cases are Brazil with 9,176,975, Russia with 3,790,265, the UK with 3,806,993, France with 3,236,685, Spain with 2,743,119, Italy with 2,541,783, Turkey with 2,470,901, Germany with 2,217,234, Colombia with 2,086,806, Argentina with 1,922,264, Mexico with 1,841,893, Poland with 1,508,674, South Africa with 1,449,236, Iran with 1,411,731, Ukraine with 1,258,093 and Peru with 1,125,875.
The second-highest number death toll recorded in Brazil at 2,23,945. Following Brazil, Mexico with 1,56,579, the UK with 105,777, Italy with 88,279, France with 76,006, Russia with 71,556, Iran with 57,889, Spain with 58,319, Germany with 56,878, Colombia with 53,650, Argentina with 47,931, South Africa with 43,951, Peru with 40,686, Poland with 37,082, Indonesia with 29,728, Turkey with 25,865, Ukraine with 23,769and Belgium with 21,018 cases recorded.
