Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): On Thursday, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to implement a process to revise parking fees in Bhubaneswar from April 1.
According to sources, the BMC has invited tender for 32 parking lots in the town. As per the decision, there will be no parking charges for bicycles. However, bikers, auto-rickshaws, four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles will have to pay of Rs 5, Rs 20, and Rs 25 respectively.
The parking cost for two to three hours will be Rs 15 for two-wheelers, while for three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles, the charges will be Rs 20, Rs 40, and Rs 50 respectively.
Furthermore, charges of Rs 25 will be levied for parking two-wheelers for three to four hours. Three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles, the parking fees have been fixed at Rs 35, Rs 60, and Rs 75 respectively.
For parking vehicles for more than five hours, commuters need to pay 20 percent extra per hour. Electric vehicles will be given at 40 percent discount on parking fees, the tender read.
