Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Noted social worker and labour leader Lalit Nayak passed away during treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Monday morning at around 5.30 am, informed his family.
According to sources, Nayak was suffering from bone cancer since last six months and admitted to the hospital for treatment. He was also infected with Covid-19 earlier and had recovered.
The noted labour leader was associated with around 50 social organizations and was also the president of several unions including Western Odisha Shramik Sangha, Electric Employees Association and Auto-Rickshaw Association in Bolangir district. Besides, he took part in several blood donation campaigns in the district.
Meanwhile, his mortal remains will be brought to Bolangir for the last rites.
