Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expresses gratitude to Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren for extending aid.
CM thanked Jharkhand Govt. for extending co-operation in providing water to Subarnarekha Irrigation Project of Odisha during Kharif season. CM has assured that the State will extend all cooperation for construction of ‘Ichha Dama’ and reimburse Odisha’s share cost of the dam in time.
CM also mentioned that the Subarnarekha Project of Odisha will be able to utilise its full potential only after completion of Ichha dam.
Considering this, CM had sought co-operation of Jharkhand CMO in early completion of the dam for benefit of farmers in both states.
Notably, Rs 1,026.91 crore has so far been paid to the Jharkhand government for the Ichha dam project works against the estimated share of Rs 1,208 crore of Odisha, the Chief Minister said that 36 villages in Odisha will be affected under Ichha dam reservoir submergence area at FRL 225 of metres.
According to reports, land acquisition and resettlement and rehabilitation work in Odisha portion have been taken up. As of now, 5196 acres of land out of 5,283 acres has already been acquired.
