SunstarTV Bureau: Amazon India recently launched a service allowing local shops to establish a digital presence on Amazon platform to serve customers in their locality, online.
Amit Agarwal, Global Senior Vice President and Country head ,Amazon India said that India’s e-commerce currently accounts for a mere 3% of its total retail transactions but is moving ahead towards faster digitisation across the consumption value chain.
Numerous innovative digital practices have revolutionised e-commerce. To meet the ever-increasing needs of an online shopper, advanced technological practices are being implemented at every point of the supply chain.
When the e-commerce sites were first introduced, many shoppers were hesitant to use them as they could not personally see or touch the products they were buying. They had to pay in advance and go through a long and tedious process of online payment. E-commerce is blurring the line between online and offline shopping and between local and global market.
Digital technology continues to be the core of the e-commerce industry and has employed its astounding capabilities to allow sellers to connect with their customers through the web and mobile platforms.
