Bhubaneswar (SunstarTV Bureau): In an initiative to provide free cardiac treatment services to underprivileged children of Odisha, the State Government today signed an MoU with Prasanti Medical Services and Research Foundation.
According to the agreement, the deprived children of Odisha will get cardiac treatment services at Satya Sai Heart Hospital in Ahmedabad for next two years.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Justice Vineet Saran, Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Mohammad Rafiq, Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Justice Kalpesh Jhaveri, Former Chief Justice of Odisha and Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Das along with others were present on the occasion.
The hospital was inaugurated on November 15, 2018 to assist Odisha’s children in need of cardiac services. As per the agreement, the state government will bear all the expenses including treatment, medicines, stents, coils, etc. and transportation of ailing children.
Till now, 1,019 ailing children have undergone cardiac surgery and cured of their heart diseases. The next batch of children with heart problem will be treated with reopening of the institutes, which are paused due to Covid pandemic.
