Sunstar TV Bureau: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden over phone, and recapitulated India’s commitment to its strategic bilateral partnership with the United States, on Tuesday.
This was the maiden interaction between the leaders of two countries after Joe Biden’s victory in contentious US election 2020.
Modi took to twitter to extol Biden, “Spoke to US President-elect Joe Biden on phone to congratulate him. We reiterated our firm commitment to the Indo-US strategic partnership and discussed our shared priorities and concerns — COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region.”

The Prime Minister also eulogized Indian origin US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
“Her success is a matter of great pride and inspiration for members of the vibrant Indian-American community, who are a tremendous source of strength for Indo-US relations,” he said.
