SunstarTV Bureau: Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker, Surya Narayan Patro, convoked for an all party meeting of the winter session on November 18, here on Sunday.
The first day sitting will begin at 11 am and the lunch break will be at 1.30 pm. The afternoon sitting will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm every day. However, from second day onwards the first sitting will begin at 10.30 am and continue till 1 pm.
The winter session of Odisha Assembly that begins from November 20 will have four and half business hours daily and will continue up to December 31 following Covid guidelines.
Patro said to media person, that the meeting will decide among other things whether there will be question hour during the session. As question hour was adjourned during the monsoon session held from September 29 to October 7 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the BJP has decided to press for resumption of question hour during the winter session. Leader of the opposition, Pradipta Naik said, “The session must have question hour so that MLAs can redress the problem being faced by people of their constitution.”
Leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP), Narsingh mishra said question hour cannot be restored now as star question have not been submitted by the MLAs.
The Speaker said RT-PCR tests of the legislators, staff and other officer will be done in a special counter and only those who test negative for the virus will be allowed to participate in the Assembly proceedings.
